    Vodacom Mozambique is a subsidiary of Vodacom Group Limited a leading African communications company providing a wide range of communication services including voice, messaging, data, financial and convergence services.

    Having opened its doors in 1996, Vodacom Mozambique has grown its operation to now service over 1.5million customers.

  • History

    Vodacom Mozambique started operating in 1996 with the Government of Mozambique as a shareholder through its stake in Mozambique Telecommunications Corporation. When the Government of Mozambique began its privatisation process in 1999, it invited bids for its share in Vodacom Mozambique. In July 2000, Sekha-Metsi Consortium, a group of local business people and public figures, was announced as the successful bidder. Sekha-Metsi holds a 20% share in Vodacom Mozambique with the remaining share held by Vodacom Group.
